The iRPG Newbie Guide
Update: Let me clarify something for all you idiots: The point is to leave the browser open at my chat while doing other things, such as playing video games or talking in other channels. Also, noone is forcing you to be here, so don't complain, and get a brain.
Hello, if you are reading this you're probably new to #iRPG, a channel on the deviantART Messaging Network(dAmn). #iRPG is run by a bot, more specifically ~iRPG-Bot, and as you idle, it stores the amount of time you've been idling in the room. If you talk, you get penalized a certain amount of time. The same applies if you get kicked or leave without another open connection o the room. So basically, don't talk and you should have no problems.
In response to the question you may have in your head: You will be promoted every 20 levels.
Here is the (short) command list for iRPG:
- $hog (user) - Admin Only. Causes the hand of God to randomly give out experience to the user, or a random user if none is specified.
- $class [text] - Set your welcome message title.
If you're so obcessed about your idle time, here are a few of the inside formulas used in #iRPG.
Note: All Event Penalties are the same for every level.
In the following equations, replace YOUR_LEVEL with your level. (Duh!)
- Kick Penalty - 250 * (1.14 ^ (YOUR_LEVEL))
- Part Penalty - 20 * (1.14 ^ (YOUR_LEVEL))
- Command Penalty - 20 * (1.14 ^ (YOUR_LEVEL))
- Message Penalty - [message_length] * (1.14 ^ (YOUR_LEVEL))

How to Level
To gain levels you need...
600 * (1.16 ^ [level#])seconds.
Until Level 40, after which you need...
(600 * (1.16 ^ 40)) + (3600 * ([level#] - 40)seconds.
Godsends and Calamities
Every day you have a one in eight chance of a Godsend and Calamity affecting you. They carry you 5-12% towards or from your next level.
Items and Battles
As of version two, every time you level, you obtain an item. These items are given to you so that there is a greater chance of a lower level item. For each 'number' from 1 to YOUR_LEVEL * 1.5, you have a 1 / (1.4 ^ number) chance to find an item at this level.
When you level, you also challenge a random person to a battle. This only occurs 100% of the time if your level is over 25, but if you are under level 25, there is still a 25% chance of you battling. When you battle, both your item sums are totalled and a random number is generated for each of you between one and your item sum; you win if yours is larger.
If you win, you gain
((the larger of (OPPONENT_LEVEL/4) and 7) / 100) * YOUR_NEXT_TIME_TO_LEVELseconds to your next level, but if you lose you lose
